RESOI~LTTION AMENDING SECTION 9.8 OF THE
BUTTE COUNt'Y PERSONNEL RULES
WHEREAS, the Butte County Employees Association and representa-
tives of the Board of Supervisoars have met and conferrea relative
to amending Section 9,8 of the personnel rulesa
WH~REl~S, the Butte County Employees Association is in
agreemen.t with the following amendmente
NOW, TH~REFORE, BE IT ItESOLVED by this Board as ~oiiow~:
l, ~'h.at Section 9,8 of the Butte County Personnel Rules is
hereby amended to read as follows:
~ Each regular or limited fierm employee in a compensated
employment sta~us on his assigned work day immediatel,y preceding
and his asszgned woric day immediateZy following a hola.day shall
be entait].ed to compensation for the holiday,
~tecognized county holidays and dates sha7.~. be as specified
in Califor,nia Government Code, Section I8025 as amendede
A reg~xlar or limited term employee required to wvrk on a
holiday or whose regalarly scheduled da}r off falls on a holiday
shall, at the discretion of his department head, be en~ritled to
eith,er equivalent compensa~ted time off schedules the day preceding
the holiday or within {60) sixty days following the holiday or
equiva~.ent compezisation ~to be paid within (60) sixty days following
the holiday.
Regular employees exempt from paid overtime shaZ1. be
entitled to ho~iday compensation, Extra help employees shal.l not
be entitled to paid holidays or compensated time off for holidays
worked,
2, ~t is recognized by both parties agreefng to the amendment
to the Butte County Perso.n.nel Rules specitying county holidays
as those designated in Governmen~ Code Section 18025 does nat
preclude dis~ussions of additional holiday revisions in the future,
3, It is understood that this change in the holiday schedule
is to be effective im~nediately upon adoption of a resolution by
the Board of Supervisorso The change specifically effects
Vetera~s' Day as recognized in the county rales as the fo~rth
Monday zn October (Octaber 28, 1974) returning Veterans' Day to the
traditional Veterans' Day9 Novembe~ llo Beca~se some employees
have planned to observe October 28, 1974, as specified in-~:the
Butte County Personnel Rules, those employees wi~l be allowed to
use one day of their earned annual vacation credit un~ess unusual
department hardship can be shown, Such action may not resuit ~n
the clos~ng of a coun~y o~~ice on Qctober 28, I974o
PASSED AND ADOFTED this _15th day o£ October, 1974 by the
Butte County Soard of Supervisors by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Cameron, Gilman, Ladd, McKillop a.~d Chairman Madigan
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
NOT VOTING: None
