intends to consider a proposal £or establisizment of a county service
area for the purpose of structurai. fi~e protection services, the
boundaries of which area are hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, no proceeding for the establishment of such a
service area shall be instituted by this Board or requested by its
members until approva~. of the Local Agency Formation Commission is
first obtained.
NOW, ~HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED AND ORBIIZ~D by the Bu~te
County Board of Supervisors as follows:
1. Application and a proposal is hereby made to the
Butte County Loca1 Agency Formatfan Commission in accordance with
~ehe Knox-Nisbet Act, beginning with Government Code Section 54773,
for establishment of County Service Area 53. The exterior boundaries
of the proposed serv'i~e area are described in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto and made a gart hereof by this reference.
2. Establishment of said service area is proposed
under the County Service Area Law (Chapter 2.2, Part 2, Division 2,
Tir~.e 3 of the Government Code beginn.ing with Section 25210.1). The
type of extended service proposed to be provided is structural
fire protection services.
3. The Clerk of the Board is authorized and da.rected
to file a certified copy of this resolution with the Executive Officer
of the Butte County Local Agency Formation Commission.
