elected or appointed, qualified and acting DIRECTOR, DEPARTME M OF VETERANS
AFFAIRS, hereinafter cailed the State, and the County of Butte ,
hereinaFter called the Contractor:

WHEREAS, State and Contractor have entered into an agreement
entitled AGREEhtENT FOR ALLOCATION OF STATE AID TO COUA~fIES FOR COUtdTY VETEM,~i
SERVICE OFFICER, dateci July i, 1974 providing for the payment of State funds
to the Contractor for partial support of the County Veteran Service Office
pursuant ta Che provisions of Sections g71 and 972 of the Military and
Veterans Code, and
WHEREAS, Senate Bill 237g, enacted as Chapter 1~+31, Statiutes of lp]~;
amended Section 972 of the Mititary and Veterens Code and appropriated
$400,000 from the ~eneral Fund for additional payments to"counties,
N041 THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed thaf for the period January ~,
T975 througfi June 30, 1975, the State s~ail reimburse the Contcactor a~
adcEi~ional amo~nt. not to exceed $ 2,g12.00 from f~nds appropriated 6y '
Chapter 1431, Statutes of 1974 for saiaries, employee benefits, and expenses
ot the County Veteran Service Office functions; provided that reimbursement
for t~e salary of any County Veteran Service Officer who is ^ot employed dn
such a capacity on a fult-time basis shall not exceed Seventy-Five Dol~ars
per month.
No 32eimbursement shall be made under this agreement for salaries,
emptoyee benefits, or expenses for any other employees w[~ose duties are not
i sotely restricted ta county veteran service officer activities attributabte
to perforrnance of county veteran service officer functions.
The additional fu~ds made available p~rsuant to this amendne~t
shai~ not be subject to the limitations contained in numbered Sections l and

The fourth paragraph on page 3 which reads "Provided, however
that the total amount of 'reimbursement under this agreement shall not exceed
