WHII2EAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County o~f Butte has determined
that it is in the best interest of the County to provide that county officers
and employees who are responsible for receivix~g and paying out money may be
relieved of shortages in their accounts, where there is no proof of fraud
or gross negligence in connection with the shortage and where the ].oss is
not covered by i.nsurance; and
WFIEREAS, the Government Code of' the Sta~e of California, Section 29390
provides that the Board of Supervisors may make provision for such relief,
NOW, ~'HIItEF'ORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BQARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE, STATE OF GALIFOI2NIA, as follows:
County officers a.nd employees who are responsib3e for receiving and
paying out money may be relieved of shortages in their accounts, where there
is no proof of fraud or gross negJ.9.gence in connection with the shortage ~
and where the loss is not covered by insurance, providing that the Board
of Super,visors after an investigation and report concurred a.n by the
district attorney and the cownty auditor approves the coverage of such
shortage. , ~
The foregoing resolution was introduced by Supervisor Cameron
who moved its adoption, seconded bp Supervisor _McKillop _, and said
