WI-IEREAS, ehe Congress of the iFnited States has, in the Federal-Aid
Highway Act of 1973, declared it to be in the national intere~ for Federal
Funds to be expended for highway projects on the Federal-Aid Urban System; a~d
TrTHEREAS, based on the 1970 Gensus, the Bureau of Census has designated
the Cities of Chico, Oroville and portions of the surrounding unincorporated
County areas to these two cities, as ~7.1 as the Paradise unincorporated area
I as urban areas; and
I WHEREAS, 3~efore Federal-Aid will be made available for Urban System
prolects within these urban areas, the urban limits must be established and
I a Federal-Aid Urban Road System must be designated.
I NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Sutte requests that the Urban Area Limits and Eederal-Aid Urban raad
system, as sttown on the attached mags marked "Exhibit A-1" (Oroville), "A-2"
(Paradise), "A-3" (Chico), and attached tabuZations marked "Exhibit B-1"
(Orovil3.e), "B-2" (Paradise), °B-3~~ (Chico) be approved by the State DepaYtrnent
of TransportaCion and Che Federal Highway Adminis~raCion.
