visions of Senate Bill 423, and
WHEREAS, Senate BiZl 423 will remove cities and counties
from effective control and the powe~ to is'sue new franchises
or licenses for Cable TV after January 1, ~976, and
WHEREAS, such local control of cab~e TV syste~s has
effectively served the public needs and we~faze, and ~here is
no reason for public utility control.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by this Board:
1. That the Board of Supervisors finds tha~ Senate Bill
423 is not in the public interest and respectfully request
that the Legislature not enact into law Sena~e Bill 423.
2. That a copy of th~s resolution be sent to the Honorable
Randolph Collier, Senator, First District, the Honorable Pauline
Davis, Assemblywoman and the Honorable Eugene Chappie, Assemblyman.
