MAINTENANCE OF TRA~'FIC SIGNALS
y WHEREAS, the County of Butte has traffic signais installed at various
2 locations in the County; and
g WHEREAS, the Connty does not lnave adequate personnel or equipment for
t~ the maintenance of such traffic signals;
~ NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State of California, ~epartment
g of TransporCaCion be requested to maintain sazd signal sys~em at an estimated
q cost of $2,325.00 for the 1975-76 fiscal year.
g BE IT FUILTHk~7t RESOZVED that the following "Save Harmless" provisi.ona
g is approved by the Board in connection wiCh such maintenance:
10 "It is expressly understood and agreed by the County that the
11 State of California and its officers and its employees sha11
12 not be answerable or accountable in any manner for injuries
~~ to or the death af persons or for any damage to property re-
~,¢ sulting from the operation of or the failure to~maintain the
25 traffic signals.
18 "The Caunty agrees to indemnify and save l~armless the State of
~7 California and its officers and employees ~rom a11 suits, :
18 actions or claims of any character brought as a consequence
19 of the oQeraCion of or the failure to mai.ntain the traffic
QQ signals."
21 BE IT FURTHER R~SOLVEb that the County will deposit suf~icient funds
22 not ~o exceed $2,325.00 with the Depaxtment of Transportation for the main-
23 tenance of said signals during the 1975-76 fiscal year.
