Resolution 72-184 which granted to Televents of Paradise a non-
exclusive franchise for a cable television system in the area mose
particularly described therein and generally denom~nated as ~he Paradise
area, and
WHEREAS, Televents of Paradise has submitted an application
to the FCC, which application has not yet been approved in tha~
although the franchise fee, texm of fxanchise and the basis on which the
franchise fee was approved was pursuant to Government Code §5306b,
said provisions do not comply with FCC regulations, and
WHEREAS, this Board wishes to amend said Resolution 72-184
in order to make the ~ranchise acceptable to FCC.
NOW, THER~FORE, BE TT R~SOT~VED by this Board:
1. That Resolution 72-I84 is hereby amended by reducing
the franchise fee to be paid to the County of Butte from 5 percent
of ~he gross ann.ual receipts to 3 percent of gross subscriber revenues
from its operations within Butte County.
2. That Resolution 72-1$4 is further amended to provide
tha~ the duration of the franchise sha1~. be 15 years.
3. That the aforementioned amendments to Rasolution 72-1$4
are made on the condition that Televents o£ Paradise must within 90
days of the date of this resolution complete all requirements set
forth in Resolution 72-I84 relative to obtaining necessary license
permits and authorization and that further wi11 have commenced
construction of ~he improvements necessary to conduct cable television
operations in Paradise. The aforementioned amendments to

Resolution 72-184 are further made oz~ the condition that Te~.events
of Paradis~ file progress reports with ~Cb.is Board no later than the
first Tuesday of each ~zontt~. commencing with the month ot August,
1975 as to its progress i.n commencing operati~ons under the ~ranchise.
~hese monCh~.y' zepo~~s should detail the construction and other
progress made to comply' wi~h, ~he franchise.
4. Be it further resolved that the deadline set ~orth
here'in this resolution may be extended only by the Board o~ Super-
visors after receipt by them of adequate justi~ication for any
extension o~ time by Televents of Faradise.
