PROCLAMATION OF EXTSTENCE OF A. LOCAI~ EMERGENCY
WF3~REAS, Ordinance No. 1323 of the County of Butte empowers the
Board of Supervisors to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of
a local emergency when said Gounty is affected or likely to be affected by
a public calamity; and
WHEREAS, said Board o£ Superva.sors has been requested by the
Director of Civi1 Disaster of said County to proclaim the existence of a
local emergency therein; and
WHEREAS, said $oard of~.Supervisors does hereby find:
That cnnditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and
property hava arisen within said County, caused by earthquakes, commencing
on or about 8:L~5 a.m. on the lst day of August, 1975; and
That the aForesaid conditions of extreme peril warrant and
necessitate the proclamation of the exis~ence of a local emergency.
NOW, TFiEFtEFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED th.at a local emergency now
ex~.sts zn the greater Oroville area of said County; and
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of
said local emergency the powers, functions and duties of the Director of
Civil Disaster and the emergency organization of this County shall be those
prescribed by state 1aw, by charter, ordinances, resolutions of this County,
and by the Covnty of Butte Emergency Plan, as approved by the Board of
Supervisors on August 5, 1975.
IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORAERED that said local emergency shall
be deemed to continue to exist unti]. its termination is proclaimed by the
Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte~ State of California.
