TRA~EL AND EXPENSES FOR COUNTY OFFICERS

WH~R~AS, thzs Board has de~ermined that the expenses
for mileage should be increased, AND
WH~REAS, the Board of Supervisors on October 21, 1g75
ratified a Memorandum of Understanding covering employee's
travel a~Zowance, AND
' WHERBAS, it was the Board's intention to change
- the employees' mileage reimbursement rate effec~ive November 1,
' ~975,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE I~ RESOLVED that Section 5 of
Resolution 7~-76 be amended to read as follows:
5. Any o£ficer or employee who has received
autihori~ation ta ~se a przvately owned vehicle
for county business shall be reimbursed at a
rate of seventeen cents (17~) for each mile
driven on county business during the month.
Any officer or employee, except Board and Commission
members specified in Section 6 of this resolution,
who during any month is authorized and provides
a privately owned vehicle for county use in excess
of five (5) working days during the month shall
receive seventeen dollars ($17) for the first 100
miles or portion thereof of miles traveled on
county business. Such officers and employees shall
receive in addition after the first 100 miles per
month, seventeen cents (17¢) a mile for all other
miles traveled on county business during the month.

The County Administrative Officer sha11 develop
rules and procedu~es for the autho~izatzon o~
vehicle use under this section. Such procedures
sha11 provide for the written departmental justification
of need, written mileage records certified by the
department and the employee, periodi.c review of
travel needs by the department, and the type and
condition of vehicle authorized for county use.
BE TT ~U~~HER RESOLVED that this resolution is to
be effective retroactively to November 1, ~975•
