The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
do ordain as follows:
Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of
an engineering and traffic survey, the county highways hereinafter described
come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
of California, in that a prima .facie speed limit of sixty-five (65) miles per
hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and
declares a prima facie speed limit on such county highways as follows:
Section 2: That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles
per hour is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter
described county highways, to ti~.t:
(a) On Richvale-East Road from the easterly right-of-way line of
the Southern Pacific Railroad Company to the PZidway.
(b) On Plidway from Richvale Fast Road to the southerly right-of-way
line of Fruitvale Road.
(c) On Richvale-G~1est Road from P~iidway to the westerly right-of-way
line of 4th Street.
(d) On Richvale-South Highway from Nidway to 0.25 miles southerly.
Section 3: That SPEED LIP4IT 35 P4ILES signs be placed at appropriate
locations on the roads described in Section 2.
Section 1+: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict here-
with are hereby repealed.
Section 5: The several features, parts, provisions, sections and
terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independen£ and severable, and
the invalidity, if any, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term
thereof shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the same
inoperative or invalid.
Section b: Tine Department of Public tidorks of the County of Butte is
hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
speed limits established herein, within thirty (30) days of the adoption hereof.

l This ordinance shall take effect thin ty (30) days after its passage,
g and before the expiration o£ fifteen (15) days after its passage, it shall be
3 published with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once
in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California.
