AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIM:CTS ON
CERTAIN ROADS WITHSN THE. COUNTY. OF BUTTE,-STATE OF CALIFORNIA

1 fine Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, .State of California,
2 do ordain as follows:
3 Section l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the basis of
4 an .engineering and traffic survey, the Countp highways hereinafter described
6 come within the provisions of Section 22358 of the Vehicle Code of the State
`$ of California, in .that a maxi,m~m speed limit of sixty-five (65t) miles per
7 hour is more than is reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines
8 and declares a prima facie speed limit on such county highways as follows:
,`g Section 2: That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five (35) miles
per hear is hereby determined, declared and established upon the hereinafter
~:~' described county highways, to wit:
l2; (a) On Gridley-colusa Highway from the westerly right--oY~-.way line
~3 of Randolph Avenue to the westerly right-off way line oY Idaho Street
14 (b) On Oroville-Qainep Road from Berry Creek Station Road to a point
l5', 5O0' south of the Berry Creek School.
16 Section 3: That SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at appropriate
]:7 locations on the roads described i.n Section 2.
lg Section All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith
I~; axe hereby repealed,
20 Section The several featured, parts, provisions, sections and terms
2Z of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and severable, and the
22 invalidity, if aqq, of any feature, part, provision, section, or term thereof
23 shall not affect the remainder of this ordinance, nor render the acme
~¢ inoperative or invalid.
23 Section 6: The Department of Publi.e Works of the Countp of Butte is
26 hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice of the prima facie
27 speed limits established herein, within thirty (30) daps of the adoption hereof>
28 This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its passage,
2g and before the expiration of i?ifteen (1$) days after its passage, it sha11 be
gp publis~'sd with the names of the members voting for and against the same, once
~~ in a local newspaper published in the County of Butte, State of California,
