Public Law 94-23 and 94~24 funds ~he Indo-Chinese Refugee Assistance
Program through June 30; 1976, and
WHEREAS, as of Febxuary J.976, ~here are 3 cases involving
23 Indo-Chinese persons on ai.d in the Coun~y of Butte, and
WHEREAS, the Depaztment of Social Welfare has included a
budget request far County appropziations in fiscal year 1976-77
on the assumption that Congress w~ii enact new legislation, and
WHEREAS, th.e Department of Social Wel£axe is no~ aware of
any bills which hava been proposed on. th.is subject, and
WHEREAS, if legislation is not approved, it is feared tha~
the County's Genera].,Pxssistance Program -- funded entirely by the
County and possibly the AFAC 1'rogram, in wh~ch the Cou~ty shares
part of the cost, will be ut~.li.zed foz ~he support of these refugees.
NOW, THEIZEFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Bu~te County Board
of Supervisors ot the State of California, does hereby go on record
in supporto£ continued total Federal support for the Yndo-Chinese
Refugee Assistance Program, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Boaxd of Super-
viso~s is directed to forward a copy o~ this resolution to the
Chairman of the ~oard of Supervisors of a11 counties in Californa.a.
