PURSUANT TO pECTSION N0. 73078 OF TEIE CALIFORNIA

BE IT 1ZESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors of the County ot Butte
as follot;rs:
WHEREAS, bq ResoluCion No. 3174 of tihe City Council of the City ot
Oroville, a public hearing was called for Monday, June 7, 1976, at the
fiour of 8:00 pem, in the Couacil Ch.ambers in the Ci~y Hall, Oroville,
California, to ascertain wheth~x the publi.c necesszty, healt~., safety o_r ~
welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wa.res and associated
overhead structures, and the underground ins~allation of wires and facilities
for supplying electric, cocrmiunication, or similar or associatied service;
within:cthat certain area of the City of Orovi3.7.e desc~ibed as follows:
ORO DAM BOULEVARD--OLIVE HYGHWAY IFNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT
WHEREtaS, notice o~ such hearing has been given to all affected property
owners and uti7.ities concerned in ehe manner and for the time required by
law; and
FT~tEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held, and all persoris
interested have been given an opportunity to be heard; and
WHEREL~S, the Gouncil of the City of Oroville has, pursuant to
Resolution 31-74_ of the City of Oroviile designated the above-described
area as an Underground Utility District of the City of Oroville; and
WIiEREAS, the Underground Utility District created by the City of
Oroville is in the general public interest for the following reason(s):
(I) "The undergrounding to be accomplished w9.7.1. avo9.d ox
eliminate an unusually heavy concentration of overhead di.stribution

That Lassen Avenue from a point 32 feet easterly' fxom its
intersection with the centerline of The Esplanade to a point
155 feet easterly from its intersection with the centerline
of Burnap Avenue be improved by constructing thereon curbs,
gut~ers, sidewalks`, underground storm drainage pipes and
all necessary appurtenances;
That White Avenue from a point 18 feet southerly from ~ts
intersection with. the cente~line of Lassen Avenue to a point~
in the centerline of an existing cul--de-sac at the npztherly
end af existing White Avenue, be improved by constructing .
thereon!curbs, gutters, sidewa~ks, paving, base rock, under-
ground storm drainage pipes and all necessary appurtenances;
Tha~ Burnap Avenue from a point 50 feet northerly ~rom its
in~Eersection with the centerline of Lassen Avenue to a point
that la.es 1$5 feet nor'therly from the cen~erlirie inters~ction
of said Lassen Avenue, be impraved by constructing thereon
curbs, gutters, sidewalks, paving, base rock, drainage facilities,
and a11 necessary appurtenances;
That Burnap Avenue ~rom a point 660 feet southerly from its ,
intersection with the cen~erline of Lassen Avenue to a point
that 7.ies 1430 ~eet southerly from the centerline intersection
of said_Lassen Avenue be improved by construct9.ng thereon curbs,
gutters, sidewalks, paving, base rock, underground storm
drainage pipes and all necessary appurtenances; ~
That Mox~seman Avenue from a point 660 feet nor~herly from its
intersection with the centerline of Lassen ~-lvenue ~o a point
1980 fee~ northerly from the centerl3.ne intexsection of said
Lassen Avenue be improved by constructing the~eon curbs,
gutters, sidewalks, paving, base rock, underground s~orm~
drainage pipes, and all necessary appurtenarices;

~ (2) "The streets, roads ox rxght of way in tha District are
2 extensiveiy used by the general public and carry a heavy volume
3 of pedestrian or vehicular traffic;
~ WHEREAS, the ~oad-contained withz~:the Underground Utility District
~ is of particular county-wide intexest by reason of its being a major
g access to the eastern one-thixd p~ Butte County;
ry NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board hereby authorizes
g the uti7.izatio~. oE all County's allocation through calendar year 1977
g from the amount a~.located by Pacific Gas and Electric Company to the
lp County of Butte pursuant to Aeczsi.on No. 73078 of the California Public
1], Utilities Co~isszon £or the year through 1977 for expenditure on the
1$ conversion pro~ject to be carr3.ed out in said Underground Utility llistrict
13 described as "Oro Dam Boulevaxd-07.i.ve Highway Underground Uti~.ty District."
