WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte has
made application for and has been a~rarded a Community Development
Block Grant, in the amoun~ of $76,000.00, by the tJ. S. Depar~ment of
Housing and Urban D~ey~elopment for the purposes of 1) J.oans and grants
for residential rehabilitaeian; 2) public works, including instalJ.ation
of curbs, gutters and si.dewalks; 3) acquisition, demolition and clearance
o~ blighted vacant structures; and 4) community planning; and
WHEREAS, it is the intent of ehe Board of Supervisors to
loan designated grant znona~as to cer~ain eligibl.e low income and eldezl.y
persons For residential rehabilitation in accordance with. grant
condi.tions ; and
~dIiEREAS, the monies derived from the repayment of such loans
including interest thereon are to be utlized for the same purpose and
under the same conditions as ~he original grant monies loaned; and
WH~~AS, the condi~eions of the original grant require that
such monies be maintained in a separate fund account within the But~e
County treasury; and
WHEREAS, California laws require that all monies under the
control of tlze County Board of Supervisors may be disbursed only if
an expenditure appropriation has been approved by said Board of
8upervisors; and
W~iEREAS, the monies from the Community Development Black
Grant may be obtained tl~.rough a federa7. Letter of Credit disbuxsing

RESOLUTION TO ~STABLISH SPECIAL PURPOSE ~'WiD
.~VD CONTINUING APPROPRIATZON
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Batte Coux~.ty Board o~
Supervisors as follows:
1. ~.'here is k~.ereby established, in the Butte County Treasury,
a fund account entitled "IiUD Community Deva~opment Block Grant Special
Purpose Fund."
2. Tha~ al1 monies derived from the Community Development
BZock Grant for rehabilitation loan purposes and/or the repayment of
loans, including interesr thereon, under the ~rant program shall be
deposited into said special purpose fund.
3. That a1Z monies deposited into said special purpose fund
are continuously appropria~ed for the purpose ot Ioans and ~rants for
residential rehabilitation for certain 1ow income and elderZy persons in
accordance with the terms of the grant, un.til such time as the grant
program is terminated by the Board of Supervisors or the Department o~
Housin.g and Urban Development.
4. That the Butte County Auditor-Controller and/or the
Butte County Assistant Auditor-Controller are designated as the
official signatories authorized to draw upon the federal Letter of
Credit.
5. T3zat the Butte County Auditor-Controller shall disburse
monies from said fund only upon order of the Soard of Supervisors or
its official designee.
