WI~R~AS, California Vehicle Code Sections 22660 and 22710 provide
~or an Abandoned Vehicle Trust Ficnd and a meChod of disbursemenC of funds Co
local agencies thae participate in the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program and,
WHER~A3, the County of Buete, Californs.a has adopeed an Ordinance i.n
a,ccordance with the California Vehicle Code providing for the Abatement of
Abandoned Vehicles, and
WE~RSAS, the County o€ Bu~te California desires to participate in the
Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Pxqgrazu and share i.n the monies in said Abandoned
Vehicle Trust Fund;
NOW', TH.~RE~'ORE, BE IT RESOLVEll, that the County of Butte participate
i~. the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program July 1, 1976~June 30, 1977;
AIVD BE YT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT Clay Castleberry, A~.rector of Yublic
GIorks is hereby authorized to execute the contract with the Depaxtment of the
California Highway Patrol for parti,ca.pati.on in said Abandoned Vehicle Programo

the California Vehicle Code Sec~Cions 22660 and 227~.0. :
, Contxactor ag~ees to fuznish personnel and services necessary for the
aba~etuen~ of abandonad vehieles Zocated wi~hin its jurisdiction. For ~he
purposes hereaf only those abandoned vehicles remove~ ~or scrap or
dxsmantling shali constitute a chargeable abatement, excep~C vehicles
qualifying for either horseless carriage or historical vehicle license
plates puzsuant to Vehicle Code Section 5004. Said vehic7.es ma.y be

"Abandoned Vehicles" are those~as described in the California Adminis~Cxative
~ Code. Priority sha7.1 be g~.ven to the abatement of abandoned vehiclea from
corxidors of the Sta~Ce Hi.ghway System, from public lands and paxks, and f~:om
river and wildlife areas. .
