WHEREAS, here~afare o~. the 24~h day o~ February, 1976, ~he
Board of Supervzsars of the County of Butte, State a£ Californ~.a,
adapted and passed a ResaZution of Intention to Es~ablish County
Se~vice Area to be entitl.ed "COUNTY SERVTC~ AREA N0. 56," and
WHEREAS, sa~.d Resa~t~.tion fi.xed the 30th day of March, ~.976
at Z0:30 a.m. on. said day, in the Board of Supervisors Roo~.o£ the
Butte Caunty Adminzstra~ion Building, Oroville, State of CaLiforni.a,
as the time and ~~ace fo~ the public hearing on the establishment
of said area, and
WHEREAS, sai.d Board a~ sa~.d time and p~.ace, proceeded to
hear arguments both ~or and against ~h~ es~ab~~.shment of sai.d area,
and
WHEREAS, no wr~.t~en pro~ests against the es~ablishment
thexeof were filed in accordance wi.~h §25210.17 of the Government
Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED by the Board o~ Sup~~visors
of the Caun~y o~ Butte, Sta~e of Caxifornia, as fol.Zaws:
1. That sa~.d Board hereby firids an.d de~ermines that
proceedings herein we~e condv.c~ed pursuant to §2521.0.~, e~ s~.
of ~he Government Code, and that pub~icat~.on and notices were
given p~.rsuan~C thereto , and that sa~.d Board ~'inds and deternzines
th.at ~he exten~ ~a which the services described in the Resalu~ian
of ~nten~~.on are extended cov.n.~y services ;
RESOLUTION ESTABLZSHING COUNTY SERVTCE AREA TO BE
ENTITLED "COUNxY SERV~CE AREA N0. 55"

3. That the name of said proposed service area is
"CO[T"NTY SERVICE AREA N0, 56."
4. That the type o~ ex~ended county service ~o be
provided within sa~d area is street I,ightzng.
5. That ~he County Clerk is hereby dzrec~ted ~o ~aii
and hold a mail--out elec~ion on S~p~ember 2I, 197b xn the proposed
servz.ce area fnr ~the purpose of de~ermzni.ng whether sa~.d service
area shall be organi~ed and formed wi~h the boundaries as se~ farth
above, and submi.~~~d ~o ~he qualified elec~ors of and w~,~Chi:n said
propased service area shall be the following propasi~ion.:
"Shall the Coun~y Service A~ea Number 56 be formed under ~he
County Servic~ Area Law as proposed with a maximum ~ax
rate :~or ~h~ area of ~hi.r~ -~five cen~s ($ .3'S) er one hundred

6o The e~ection shall be held and conduc~Ced by ~he
Coun.~y and the ballats canvassed in accordance with the provisions
of Article 1(commencing wi~h §3700} of Chapter 3, Division 4 of
~he Electi.on Code.

is in favor o~ ~orm~.ng ~he service area and es~ablish~.ng a maximum
~ax rate in ~the serviee area, ~he Board a~' Supervisors sha11., by
reso~.ution entered in i~ts minu~es, declare ~he service area
estabY~shed under ~he Coun~y Service Area Law, giving the name
o~ the service area, the purposes for which it is ~armed, descr~.b-
ing its boun.dar~.es and ~he ~naximum ta~ ra~e es~Cab7.ished in ~Che
area. .
