RESOLUTION I30. 76-129
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
MAINTENANCE OF TRAFFIC SZGNALS

WHEREAS, the County of Butte has traffic signals installed at various
locations in the County; and
WHEREAS, the County does not have adquate pexsonnel or equipment for
the maintenance of such traffic signals;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the State of California, Depart-
ment of Transpor•taeion be requested to maintain said signal system at an
estimated cost of $2,500 for the 1976-77 fiscal year.
BE IT FURTIiER RESOLVED that the following "Save Harmless" px'ovisa.on
is approved by the Board in connection with such maintenance;
"It i.s expressly understood and agreed by the County that the
State of California and its officers and its employees sha11
not be answerable or accountable in any manner for injuxies
to or the death of persons or for any damage to properey xe-
sulting from the operation of or the failure to maintain the
traffic sign.aJ.s:'
"The County agrees to indemnify and save harmless tihe State of
California and its officers and employees from all suits,
actions or claims of any character brought as a consequence
of the operation of ox the failure to maintain ~he traffic
signals."
BE IT F[JRTHER RESOLVED that the County wi11 depos=t suf£icient
, funds not to exceed $2,500 with the Department of Transportation for
the maintenance of said signals during the 1976-77 fiscal year.
