THE CZTY OF CHICO, TNE CITY OF BIGGS AND TNE RICHVALE
SANITARY DISTRICT ELEC7IONS I~ITH THE f,ENERAL ELECTIOfJ
TO BE HELD NdVEMBER 2, 1976
WHEREAS, the City Councils of the Cities of Biggs and Chico
and the governing board of the Richvale Sanitary District have passed
resolutions calling elec~ions far various purposes, said elections to be
on November 2, 1976, and
WHEREAS, the City Counci1•of the City of Siggs has passed a
resolution calling an election to levy an additional propertv tax for
the purpase of establishing an Employees Retirement Pension Plan, and
WH~REAS, the City Council of the City of Ghico has passed
a resoTution call~ng an e1ection proposing amendments to the Charter
of the City of Chico, and
WH~REAS, the governing board of the Richvale Sanitary District
has passed a resolution calling an election authorizing the issuance
of general obl~gation bonds, and
WHEREAS, each of the aforesaid ci~y councils and the governing
board has requested the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte to
order the consolidat~on of each of the aforesaid elections with the
General Election to be held on Tuesday, ~ovember 2, 1976.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDERED AND RESOLVEb by the Board of
Supervisors of the County ofi Butte, State of California, as foT1ows:
1. That the aforesaid elections called by the aforesa~d
city counci7s and gaverning board for November 2, 1976 shall be and the
same are hereby consolidated with the General Elec~ion to be he1d
November 2, 1976.
2. That in the areas affected by this consolidation order
the e1ection shall be held in a11 respects as though there were only
one election and the County Clerk of Butte County ~s hereby order~d.
and directed to provide accordingly, within the territory affected
by said consolidation, the election precincts, polling p1aces and voting
booths far each of said elections hereby consolidated and to provide far
only one set af e1ection officers 3n each of the precincts affected by
this conso~idation order.
3. That the CountyClerk is further ordered and directed to
set forth in each form of ballot and sample ballot, to be used in
said consolidated elections, insofar as applicable, the ba]lot measure
~or said cities and governing board, to mai1 to ~he qualified electors
of the respective districts appropriate sample ballots and polling
place cards signed by said County Clerk relating to sa~d elections and
to provide absent voter ballots for.said e]ections and said Genera3
Election conso7idated therewith for use by qualified electors of the
respective districts who may be entitled thereto as provided by ]aw.
4. That the County Clerk shall canuass or cause to be
canvassed the returns af said district elections and shali cer~ify
such canvass of the vo~es cast to the respective governing boards.
5. That the County Clerk is further author..ized:to charge
to the respective distr~cts the expenses of the election or elections
attr~butabie to said districts.
