Home My WebLink About76-171ftesolufion No. 7s-~ ~~ RESOLUTION REQUESTING LEGISLATION TO COMPENSATE HOSPITALS IN 1'HE COUNTY OF BUTTE AS WELL AS THE COUNTY ITSELF FOR MEDICAL COST If~CURRED BY ILLEGAL ALIENS WNEREAS, it has been necessary in our county to supply illegal aliens with costiy medica] services, and WNEREAS, the taxpayers of this county continue to suffer substantial cost in order to supply medicai services to illega7 aliens, and WHEREAS, hospitals and doctors in this caunty a7so continue to suffer substantial losses wi~ich must be made up by the o~her paying patients because of the need to give emergency services to ilTegal aT9ens. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by this 8oard: 1. That this board respectfu7ly requests that Congress initiate ~egislation simf1ar to HR 4807 and HR 2159 and that s~ach legis7ation be adopted into law. 2. That such legis7ation a1so contain a provision to ~he effect that an employer of an i17ega1 alien be held legally responsible for the medical costs incurred by illegal aliens. 3. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the HonorabZe Harold T. "Bfzz" Johnson, Congressman, the Honora~Ie John V. Tunney, United States Senator, the Honorable ATan Cranstor~, United States Senator and to such other individuals as this Board directs.
