NOW, THEREFOR~, BE xT RESOLVED by the Board o~ Supervisors o~
~he Cpu~~y of Bu~~e, S~ate of Califorzzia, that the Governor o~ Cal~.fornia
is hereby requested ~o take persanal no~ice o~ thxs unique situation where
a viable solution ~o a drought prablem exis~s in a~ceservoir of wa~er
directly underl.ying the problem area, and ~ha~ he exert the leadership ~o
cu~ any "red ~ape" and enl~.s~ ~he coope~ative e~~oxts of Federal and Sta~e
agencies to provide appropria~e ~unding, including a multi~agency funding
p~.an i~ found approp~iate, to permit rapfd and expeditious cons~ruc~~on
of the wells and/or o~her facilities necessary to permit the grawing of
crops and produce wit~.in the twenty thousand ~.rrigable acres of the Or3.and
~ro~ect in I977, and the avoidance of th.~.s imminent d~.saster.
