HomeMy WebLinkAbout77-054RESOLUTION D~BI~NATING BOARD OF SUPERVISORS AS TH~ AREA AGENCY ON AGING FOR THE COUNTY OF BUTTE WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors wishes to seek designation as ehe Area Agency on Aging foz the County of Butte; and WHERF,AS, recognition by the California Department on Aging as the Focal Point ~s the first step in obtaining the designation as the Butte ', County Area Agency on Aging; and WIiEREAS, responsibiliCies as a Foca1 Point include: activities which foster cooperative coordinatiion of all Agencies with present or potential services for the elderly; assistance in tihe development of goals which will increase the impact of service programs and eiiminate duplication of servfce ' programs for the elderly; tap and redirect existing resources for the elderly; and maximize the ava~lability and delivery of resources and services eo the elderly of Butte County; and ' WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors accept these responsibilities in the ' interest of better serving the elder~y residenCS of Butte County. NOW, TIi~REFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte County Soazd of Supezvisozs adopts this resolvtion seeking recognition by the Ca~i~ornza Aepaztment on Aging as ~he Focal Point as the first step in obtaining the designatio^ as the Butte County Area Agency on Aging.
