WHBREAS, the County of Butte recognizing the probZems and issues identified
in the attached Application for Comprehensive Planning Assistance desires to
provide ~or a planning study contributing Co improved executive planning,
~ decision-mak.ing, and management capability; to the en ouragement of cocmnunity
planning and management as a continuous process; and to the solution of problems,
realization of opportunities and the formulafion, and implementation of pblicies
related to coffinvnity development and growth; and
WHERSAS, the County of Butte has developed an Overall Program Design and
recommended the development of an organizational structure as outlined in the
attached application to deal with these development problems and issves; and,
the California SCate Office of Planning and ltesearch, under authority of the
Government Code of the State of California (Section 34200) may provide planning
assistance £or such a program and receive financial assistance from the U,S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development, as authorized by Section 701 of
the Housing Act of 1954, as amended.
NOW, TiiEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Butte hereby requests the Office of Planning and Research to provide planning
assistance under authority of the Government Code of the State of CaTifornia, with
such financial assisCance as may be prorrided by ehe U.S, Department of Housing
and 'Urban Development, under authority of Section 701 of the Housing Act of 1954,
as amended. Such planning assistance is more particularly described in a project
description that is attached hereto and made a part of this resoiuCion as i~
Eu17.y set Forth herein.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, thaC ~he Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte,
subject to approual-:of such planning assistance by the State and Pederal.
authoriCies, hereby authori.zes the use of personnel of the County of ButCe for
services;and/or oCher expenditures of funds toward the accompiishment of Chis
project which will have a net estimated cost to tfie County of Butte of $5,000.
BE Ix FURTHER RESOLVED, T00, that the County Administrative Officer of Che
County of Bvtte be, and he is hexeby, authorized and empowered to execute in
the name o£ the County of Sutte, a11 necessary applications, contracts, and
agreements and amendments hereto to implement and carry out the purposes specified
in this resolution.
