RESOLUTTON AUTFIORIZING APPL~CATTON FOR
701 PLANNING Q~ANT FOR CHAPMAN'IDWN
Wf~'REASy the County of Butte recognizir~g the problems and issues identified in
the attached Application for Comprehensive Plann~.ng Assi.stance desires to pro~ride for
a planning study contributir~g to improved executive planr~.ng~ decision-maki~, and
management capability; to the encouragement of communi~y planna_ng and management as a
continuous process; and to the solution of problems, rea]~.za~ion of o.pportunities and
~the formulation, and implementation o~ pol.icies related to co~munity development and
growth; and
WfiEREA5~ the Gounty of Butte has developed an OVerall Program Design and
recommended the development of an organ~.zati.onal structure as outlined in the attached
app7scation to deal with these development problems az~d issues; and~ the Galifornia
State Office of Planning and Research, under authorzty o~ the Govexx~ment Code of the
State of California (Seetion 31~200) may provlde plann~.ng assa.staz~ce for such a program
and receive financial assistance from the U. S. Department o.f Housing and. tTrban
Development, as authorized by Section 701 of the Houszn.g Act of 1954, as amended.
NOW, THII~,EFOREt BE IT RESOLV.m} ~hat -~he Board of Supervisors of the County of
But~e hereby requests the O~~ice of Planning and Research to provide p3.aruiing assistance
under authority of the Government Code of the State of California, with such financial
assistance as may be provided by the TT. S. Departmen~ of Housing and Urban Development,
under au~thority of Section 701 of ~he Housi~g Act of 1951~, as amended. Such plannir~g
assistance is more particularly described in a project description that is attached
hereto and made a part ofi' this resolution as i~ fully se~E f'orth herein.
BE IT FQRTI-IER RESOLSI'ED, that the Board of Superv~isors o~ the County oF Butte,
subjECt to approval of such plaru~.ing assistance by the State and Federal authorities,
h.ereby au~thorizes the use of personnel of the County of Butte for services and~or
other expendi•tures of ~wn.ds ~toward the accomplishment of this project which wil3 have
a net estimated cost to the Cour~~y of Butte of ~~,5ao.

na~ne of the Cotznty n~ Butte, a1I necessary applications~ contracts~ at~d agreements
and amendmen~s hereto to impler~ent and carry out the purposes specified in this
resolutian.
