TO THE METRIC SYSTEM
WHEREAS, this Board is concerned over the cost to the
tax payers of a mandatory change to the metric system; and
WHEREAS, this Board firmly believes that this country
has not been handicapped in becoming the world leader in technology,
productivity and standards of living by virtue of not being on the
metric system.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLUED by this Board:
l. That we respectfully oppose any mandatory conversion
to the metric system.
2. That copies of this Resolution be sent to the Honorable
Ray Johnson, State Senator, and the Honorable Eugene Chappie and
Stan1ey Statham, State Assemblymen, and to such other Tndividuals
or organizations as this Board directs.

AYES: Supervisors Lemke, Madigan and Moseley
NOES: Supervisor Winston and Chairman Richter
