proposed program relata~ve to ~.Ilegal al~.ens; and
WHEREAS, said progratn would be exceedingly difficult, i~
not impossible, to administer and would k~.ave serious effect on
1oca1 administration of welfare and otl~er programs; and
WHEREAS, this county is suffering from a high rate of
unemployment which this proposed program cannot help but exacerbate.
~IOW, ~HER~F4R~, B~ I~ RES~I,VED by this Board as follows:
1. That we zespectfully oppose tb.e President's proposed
progzam on iJ.legal aliens and request tkiat the enabling Iegislation
be deieated.
2. W'e x'espectftr.lly request tl~at the present iLnmigration
laws be strictly en~ox'ced.
3. A copy o£ this l~esolution be sent to the Nonorable
E1lan Cranston, U.S. Senator; the Honorable S.I. Hay'alcaTaa, U.S.
Senator; an.d the Honorable Iiarald T. Johnson, Representative and to
such other individuals as rhis Board may direct.
