PROVISIONS OF SENATE BILL 154
WHEREAS, this Board has been advised by the County
Supervisors Association of California that the curren~ version of
the tax relief bill (SB 154) proposed ~hat counties begin paying
40% of the growth of the cost o~ the Homemaker Program as we1~ as
a requirement that the county share in ~he cost of a11 SST/SSP
activity;
WHEREAS, such a modification in the Welfare Program wi11
have ~he effec~ of unjustLy increasing property taxes.
NOW, THEREFORE BE TT RESOLVED that:
I. This Soard strongly opposes any legislative changes
that will adversely effect the already over-burdened taxpayer, and
respectfully request that the Legislature eliminate provisions in
SB 154 that will have the effect of increasing property taxes.
2. That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the Honorable
Ray Johnson, Senator, and the Honorable Euge~e Chappie and Stan Statham,
Assemblymen, and to such o.CHer parties as this Board may direct.
