~ WHEREAS, the!County of Su~~e has participated as a discretionary
commur,ity under the Community Qevelopment Block Grant Program for three
consecutive fiscal years; and
WHEREAS, tangible resu3ts in terms of the elimination of bi~ght,
the rehabilitatian of hous~ng a~d neighborhood conditions and increasing
suppty of residentia1 faci~ities for fami~[~es of low and moderate incomes
are now evident; and .
4lH~R~AS, these accomplishments cou1d not have been achieVed in a
timely manner without the ft~ll commitment and cooperation from a large n€a~ber
of organiza~ions and 9ndividuals - in government and private indastry; and
WHEREAS, the'County of Butte 1s especially greatful for the contri-
butions of staff representatives af the Department of Housing and Urban
Deve7opment, especially our Area Representa~ive, Geri Franklin.
I~OW THEREFORE, B~ IT RESOL.VED that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte does hereby acknowledge with deep appreciation, the assis-
tance and cooperation which has been granted to the Community Development
Black Grant Program of this Coun~y by Geri Frar~kl~n. ,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a ca~y o~F thi5 resolution be forwarded
to Congressman Harold T. "Biz" Johnson, HUD Regiona~ Administrator Emma D,
McFarlin and HUD,San Francisco Off9ce Director James Price.
