41HEREAS, the County of Butte f~as participated as a discretionary
commun~ty under the~Community Deve3opment Block Grant Program for three
consecutive ffscal yea'rs; and
~ ' WHEREAS, tangible results in terms of the eli~tination of blight,
the ref~a6ilitation of hausing and neighhorhood conditions and increasing
supply of residential facilities for families of low and modera~e incomes
are now evident; and '
WHEREAS, these accomplishments cou1d ~ot have been achieved in a.
time7y manner withaut the full commitment and cooperat~on from a large number
of organizations and individuals =~n governmer~~ ar~d private industry; and
WHEREAS, the County of Butte is especial~y greatful for the contr~-
butions of staff repr~sentatives of the ~epartment of Housing and Urban
Deve7opment, especially the Area Representative of Area A, Joseph Lavender,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors of the
County of Butte does hereby acknow1edge with deep appreciation, the assis-
tance and cooperation which has been granted to the Community Development
Block Grant Program of,this County by Joseph Lavender,
BE TT FUR7HER R~50LV~D that a copy of this resolution be forwarded
to Congressman Harold T. "Biz° Johnson, HUD Regional Administrator Emma D.
McFar7in and HUD San Francisco Office Director James Price.
