Plan for Assum tion of Costs In ~he ~irst year of ~he gran~, Butte~=Count'y absorbed only 5% of the ~otal costs of the program. The source o~ these_~unds wexe from local tax revenues. Zn the second yeax, the County is absarbi.ng 36.5% of the ~otal costs from 1aca1 tax revenues. If the progxam continues ~o be successful, the County ~..wilX be pre~ared ~o a~sorb an additional portaon af the pxogxam's costs in a third year progxam~(at least 50a of the tota~ cost). If, at the end of tihree years, the judges o£ the Superior Court deem t~e progxam successful i~ saving substantial ~udicial time, and desixe the pxogram fio con~inus, ~he Caunty would be in a~asition to cantinue the program by absorbing the total cast from 1aca1 tax revenues.
