AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING SPEED LIb4IT5 ON
CERTAIN ROADS WITHIN THE COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNT~
(Vehicle Code Section 22358)
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of
2 California, do ordain as follows:
3 ~~~~f2n_l: Said Board finds and determines that upon the
4 basis of an engineering and traffic surveys the County highways
6 hereinafter described come within the provisions of Section 22358
6 of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, in that a maximum
q speed limit of sixty--five (65) miles per hour is more than is
8 reasonable and safe on said highways, and determines and declares a
g prima facie speed limit on such County highways as follows:
10 ~~~l.i~E~~: That a prima facie speed limit of thirty-five
11 (35) miles per hour is hereby determineds declared and established
12 upon the hereinafter described County highways, to wit:
13 On all of Dewsnup Avenue
14 On all of French Avenue
15 On all of Richins Avenue
lg On all of Losser Avenue
17 On all of Peterson Street
18 On all of Social Ha11 Road
19 On Kennedy Avenue between Nord Avenue and [aluir Avenue
20 On Oak ~vay between Glenwood Avenue and State dlighway 32
21 S~&~~QLI_~: That SPEED LIMIT 35 MILES signs be placed at
22 appropriate locations on tPze roads described in Section 2.
23 i&~1,i,4.R,.-~~ All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflic
24 herewith are hereby repealed.
25 S_g~t,~gp_~: The several features, parts, provisions, section
26 and terms of this ordinance are hereby declared independent and
27 severable, and the invalidity, if any, of any features part, provi-
2g lion, section, or term thereof shall not affect the remainder of
23 this ordinance nor render the same inoperative or invalid.
30 ~~~j.~~_~,: The Department of Public tAJorks of the County of
31 Butte is hereby directed to erect appropriate signs giving notice
32 of the prima facie speed limits established herein, within thirty

(30) days of the adoption hereof.
This ordinance shall take effect thirty (30) days after its
passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after its
passage, it shall be published with the names of the members vota~g
for and against the same, once in a local newspaper publishes in th
County of Butte, State of California.
