AN ORDINANCE ZONING A PORTION OF THE COUNTY
OF BUTTE, STATE 0~' CALIFORNIA, PURSUANT TO
ORDINANCE NOS. 475, 522 and 676 OF SAID COUNTY
1 The Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California,
under and pursuant to Ordinance No. 475 of said County, being the Zoning
2 Enabling Ordinance of said County, as amended by Ordinance Nos. 522 and
676, Does Ordain as follows:

SECTION 1. The hereinbelow described areas, situate i.ri the County
4 of Butte, State of California, shall be and it is hereby zoned as an
"A-3" (Agricultural) District, and such areas shall be subject to the
{ z~cstrictions and restricted uses and regulations hereinafter specified
and proit:ided, said areas so coned being located in the unincorporated
g area of Butte County, south of the City of Chico, California, and parti-
cularly described as follows:

Parcel No. 1: Beginning at the intersection of the centerline
g of Dayton Road and the centerline of Hegan Lane; thence
easterly on-the centerline of Hegan Lane tc the Southern
g Pacific rights-of-way; thence northerly on the centerline
of the Southern Pacific rights-of-wary to Edgar Slough; thence
lp westerly along Edgar Slough to its intersection with the
centerline of Dayton Road; thence southerly on Dayton Road to
Il ~:-^the point of beginning; excepting therefrom AP #39-09-24 as
designated by map in the office of the County Assessor, first
12 Monday i.n March, 1963.
13 Parcel No. 2: Beginning at the quarter corner common to Section
36, T. 21, N,R.lE and Section 1, T. 20, N.R.IE; thence northerly
14 on half section line to its intersection with the center~.ine of
Durham-Chico Road to its intersection with the Southern Pacific rights-
15 of-way; thence northerly on the centerline of the Southern Pacific
rights-of-way to the centerline of Hegan Lane; thence westerly on
16 the centerline of Hegan Lane to its intersection with the center-
line of Dayton Road to its intersection with township line common
17 to Townships 20 and 21; thence easterly on township line to the
point of~beginning.
18 SECTION 2. The following regulations shall apply in an "A-3" District:
19 2.l Uses permitted:
20 a. Single Family D~rellings.
21 b. General farming, horticulture, commercial livestock,
22 poultry production, warehouse and storage.
23 c. Accessory buildings and uses pertinent to the permitted
uses, including agricultural processing plants.

d. Housing facilities {including trailers} to accommodate on-
25 agricultural employees and their families employed by the
owner or operator of the premises; and provided further that
26 such housing facility shall be considered accessory to the
main building, but shall conform to the provisir~n pertaining
27 to required yard and open space for dwellings.
28 2.2 The following uses subject to securing a use permit in each
case:

a. Golf courses and country clubs.

b. Public nr quasi-public uses including churches, firehouses,
hospitals and clinics, parks and playgrounds, schools,
public utility buildings and professional buildings.

SECTION 3. This Ordinance is for the purpose of orderly progress
and the owner of any property zoned hereby may at any time petition
the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte for re-zoning; and the Planning Commission of the County of Butte
shall on each fifth anniversary of the date of the adoption of this
Ordinance, of its own accord, review said Ordinance to determine whether or
not any land zoned hereby should be re-zoned to permit orderly progress.
SECTION 4~. All uses of land within the district not specifically
authorized and permitted under Section 2 are prohibited.
SECTION 5a Penalties for any violation of the zoning hereby imposed
within the District shall be as provided in the Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
In compliance with the provisions of the Zoning Enabling Ordinance, this Ordi-
nance shall fxom and after its effective date become a supplement to and
part of the Zoning Enabling Ordinance.
SECTION 6. This Ordinance shall be and it is hereby dec~.a.red to
be in full force and effect from and after thirty (30) days after the
date of its passage, and before the expiration of fifteen (15) days after
its passage this Ordinance shall. be published once with the names of the
members voting for and against it in the _ C:,~co Enterprise-Record__ ,
a newspapex published in the County of Butte, State of Californi.ao
PASSED and ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of the County of
Butte, State of California, this 1']th day of September 196, by the
following vote:
