W I T N E S S E T H:
A. REC~TA~.S:
T~e parti~s, pursuant to the provisians cit Sect.~on 134 of
t~:~ Stree~s.and Highways Code, desire to apportion the expens~
o~ naintenance v~ c~rtai.n approved traffic signals and highway
lighti.ng ~aciliti~s at the intersection of County ~oads and State
Highway~ within th~ County, and to arran:ge herein ~or the
particular mai~tenance ~uxicta.ons tv be perfor~ed by the County
and the Depart~nent and to specify the da~striY~ution o~ ~~~ ~~~t$
o~ such maa.ntenance betw~en the r~spective partie~.

This Agreemen~. sha~~. supersed~ a1I previous agreements
be~w~en Departm~nt and County wi~h raspect to zn~intenan~e af.
traf€ic s~.gnals and ~.nte~se~t~.on li,ghting.

ov~rh~eacl and adr.rinist~rative charg~s in ac~ordance w~.th ~.he ~
S~a%~ Ad.~ninistrative Manual. It a.s a~sq ag~eed that an esti--
r~3ted r~an~~xly r~~e sha~.l he establish~d for ma~nt~enar~c~ and
en~r~-~ costs a~ each type of intersec~ion light. ~
I~ is furfih.er agreed that said estimated znont~zly ~ates
ss~a~~. b~ revised or adju5ted as nt Ji~e 30 each year i~
n~c~~ssary ta insure an equitab].e an~ual cost.

5. TRA~'FIC SIGNALS . The cost of maai.ntenarice and operation
of traffic signal facilities at intersections of County raads
and/or strests with ~he State Highways shall be shared betw~en
th~ Depart~t~nt and the County in the same ratio as the n~b~r
of int~rsec~ing =oads or s~eets und~r jurisdi.~tian of th~
resp~c~iv~ agenc~es bears ~o th~ tota7. n~bEr of roads or
s~re~ts wi~an'the parti~ular inters~ation.
6. HIGHV~T~Y LIGHTING. Where highway ].i.ghting has b~en.
specificall.y approved a~ a~ intersection., the maintenance
and en~rgy costs thereon shall•be ~hared betwean th~ Departme~t.
and th~ County in the sam~ ratio as the n~er af int~rse~ting
~oads or stre~i~s under ju~isdiction of th~ respective agenci.es
bears ~to the total numb~~ of roads ar streets raithin the particu-

7. Bil~.s ~or routine rnaintenancs as detined abQVe sha31 be
subn~itted semi~annual3.y on Decemtser 31 and June 3~ o~ each y~ar.
Bi~3.s shall be i.n accordanc~ with that shaa~rn on said Exhibi.t "A" .
8. Extrao~d~nary expense, such as for repazr or rep~.acement
of extens~.ve damage, shal.l. be assessed d~.r~~t1y against the
parit~ular a.nstallation inval.ved. Billings for su~h costs sha11
be it~tized as to materials, ~.ncluding service and exp~nse,
sal.arie~ a~d wages, and equ~.pm~nt renta3. .
