WH~R~AS, Section ~0012 of the ~lec~~ans Gode o~ t~e Sta~e of
Caiifor~ia permits candidates for eiective o~fice ~n any 7oca1 agency, city,
cau~ty, czty and co~nty, or district to prepare a statement of qualif~cations
on a farm provided by the County C1erk to be sent ta each voter together w~th
~he sample ballot; and
WNEREAS, t~e said Sect~an 1QOI2 ~urther permits a loca~ agency ~o
~nvoic~ eac~ ca~didate ava~~ing himself o~ said service a sum no~ greater than
the actua~ prorated casts af printing and handling i~curred by the ~oca7 agency
as a result of provid~ng said service;
~OW, ~~EREFOR~, B~ ~T RESOLVEb that this Board of 5uperv~sars does
h~reby d~rect ~he County Cierk to invoice candidates avai~ing themselves of
the service pravided for by Section 10012 of the Elect~ons Code of the State of
California.
BE IT F~RTH~R R~S4LVER tha~ said County C7erk be, and is hereby
au~hor7zed to collect a depos~~ on ~he es~~mated cos~ of said serv~ce, a~d said
deposit is ta b~ collec~ed hy t~e Coun~y C7erk at the time of the fil~ng of th~
candidate's s~a~ement of qual7fica~ions form.
B~ T~ FURTH~R RESOLVED tha~ the Caun~y Clerk be, and is hereby
aut~arized and dtrec~ed to invaice candTdates availing themse~ves o~ sa7d serv~ce
for any additional cos~s tha~ may be incurred ~~ th~ cost of the service provided
exc~eds the amaunt of deposit ~ade, and to return any excess of deposi~ if such
deposit exceeds t~e actual cast af the service provided.
