l~GARllTNG THE SETTING OF A NlAXZNNM TAX RATE
T~7~IER.EAS, the Board of Supervi.sors formed the Joshua ~ee #1 Street]ighting
Maintenance Distra.ct on December 20, 1977 for ~he purpose of providing streetlighting
within the Joshua Tree #1 subcl.i.vision; and
WHEREAS~ Section 2263.2 of the Revenue az~d Taxation Code cl.early~ states that i~ no
petition estabJ.ishing a maximum ta~c rate is signed concurrentZy with or before such a
distriet is formed then a maximum ta~c rate eleetion is required to set a ta.ac.rate; and
bl[-IEREAS, the Joshua Tree #1 Stree'tlighting Mai.ntena~ce District contains 300 or
less registered voters; and
WIIEREAS, there are no other eZections called in said service area thus making it
more feasible to use mailed ballots in said service area.
NOi~, THERE~RE, BE IT FtESOLVED by the Board oF Supervisors of the County of Butte,
State of California, as follows:
That a special election using mailed ballots is hereby ealled and ordered to be
held in the Joshua Tree #1 Stree~lighting Maintenance Distr9.ct on May B, 197~', for the
purpose of submitting to the qualified land owner electors of the Josua Tree #1 Street--
lighting Maintenance Tlistrict the following ballot measure;
Shall the maximum annual real property tax rate for ~
~oshua ~ee #1 Streetlighting Maintenance District
be $s;;.27'per $100. QO of assessed valu~tion. NO
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Soard. of Supervisors on this 21se day of
