VISTA DEL CERR(} STREETLIGHTING MATN~NANCE DZSTRICT A PROPOS~TI01N
RE~ARDING TFiE SETTING OF' A MAXIM(TM TAX ftATE
WHEREAS, the Board of Sizpervisors £ormed the Vista Del Cerro Streetlighting
Main~tenance District on December 20, 1g77 ~or the purpose of providing street~.i.ghting
within the Vista Del Cerro subdivision; and
WfiEREAS~ Section 2263.2 of the Revenue and Taxation Gode clearly s~ates
that if no petition establishing a maximum tax rate is signed eoncurrently with
or before such a district is formed then a ma~.mum ta~c`rate election is required
to set a tax rate; and
ti~f•IF.;REAS, the Vista Dei Cerro Streetlighti.ng Maintenance District contains
300 or less registered voters; and
~AS~ there are no other elections calZed in said service area thus
maki.ng it more feasible ~o use mailed ballots in said serv3.ce area.
NOW, TfiER~Ft~RE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Supex•vi.sors of the County
of Butte, State of Ca7.9.fornia, as foZlows:
'I'hat a special election using mailed ballots is hereby called and ordered
to be helfl in the Vista ne1 Cerro Streetlighting Ma3ntenance District on May $, 1.97~,
for the purpose of submitting to the qua].ified land owner electors of the Vista Del
Cerro Streetli.ghting Maintenance District the follok~ng ballot measure:
Shall the ma~mum annual _r.eal~ pr.operty ta~c rate for YES
V'ista Del Cerro Stree-Elighting Mainter~ance District
be $2.10 per $100.OD of assessed valuatzon. NO
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on this Z1st
