CRESTG~OOD STREETLIGHT~NG MAINT~NANCE DISTRICT A PROPOSITION
REGAI~.DING TfiE SETTING OF A MAXIMUM TAX RATE
WIIEREAS, ~Ehe Board of Supervisors fbrmed the C~estt~aood 5treetlighting
Main~Eenance District on December 20, 1977 for -~he purpose of providing streetligh-~ing
with.i.n the Crestwood subclivision; and
WHEREAS, Section 2263.2 of the Revenue and Taxation Code clearly sta~es
that if no petition establishing a ma~.mum tax rate is signed concurrent3.y t:~i~th
or before such a distriet is formed then a maxa.mum tax rate election is requ~.red
~o set a tax rate; and
~1HEREAS, the C~estwood Stree-~lighting Maintenance District contains 300
or less registered v~oters; and
Z~fiEREAS, ther.e:are no_~other elections called in said serviee area thu5
making a.t more feasible to use mailed ballots in said service area.
NOW, THE~~EFnRE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board o£ Supervisors af the Caunty
of Butte, State of Califarni.a, as follows:
'~hat a specia~ elec~ion using mailed ba~lots is hereby called aad ordered
to be held in the C~estwood Streetlighting Maintenance Distri.ct on May 8, 197$, for
the pnrpose of suhmi.tt~.ng to the quali.fied land owner electors of the Crestwood
Streetlighting Maintenance Distric~ the followin~ ballot measure:
Shall the maximum anxiual real property tax rate for YES
Crestwoad Streetligl~ting Main~enance District be ~Q
$'i~7 per $100.00 of assessed valuation.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Butte County Board of Supervisors on this 21st
day of February , 1978~ by the folZowing vote:
