BUTTE COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORIQIA,
~tELAT~VE T0 GENERAL ASSISTA~CE PROGRAM FUNDING
WfEEREAS, it has been called to tne attention of t~e Board
of Supervzsors o~ the County of Butte, State of CaliFornia, that an
amend~ent to Senate B~11 382 was introduced in the Cali~ornia Legis-
lature on September 2, 1977; and
WHEREAS; Senate Bill 382 as amended, provides for a State
General Assistance Program, with no provzsion for State subvention
of administration costs; and
WHEREAS, there is no p~ov~sion for a ceiling on County
costs; and
WH~RSAS, Coun~y costs wi11 be increased with the passage
of th~s bill.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Butte Coun~y Board
of Supervisors goes on record as opposing Senate Bill 382 as amended
September 2, 1977; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the Saard transmit
a prepared copy o~ this Resolution to the.:Honarable Jerry Brown,
Governor; the Honorable Ray Johnson, Senator; The Honorable Eugene
Cha~pie, Assemblyman; the Honorable Stan Statham, Assemblyman; and
to such other parties that the Board may direct; and
BE I'T FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
respectfully requesrs an amendment of the Bill to provide for State
subvention of program administration costs and a"hold harmless"
clause assuring t~hat the County's share of program eosts would not
exceed its ~ota1 expenditures for General Assistance during the
1976-77 fiscal year:
