RESOLU7ION IN H~lVOR OF ALVA 4!. MTTCHELL
WNEREAS, Alva W. Mitchell has served, with distinction,
as Farm Advisor ir~ Butte County since 1959, having~been with the
Agricultural Extension Service in Butte County since 1941; and
WHEREAS, this 8oard wishes to recognize the long and
devoted pub~ic service of AZva lJ. h7itchell; and
w
WNEREAS, A1va W. F~itche~l has, with outstanding diligence
and effectiveness, advanced the agricuZtural economy of Butte County
and the Sta~e of California, including, but certainly not lim~ted to
cattle and sheep, establishing the almor~d hull feeding indus~ry,
which in But~e County alone is returning to the growers between
$1,000,000 to $2,Q00,000 annuallys deve7oped the firs~ l.ive Eat
Cattle Judging and Carcass Eva~uation, which is now considered to
be the most respected basis for se]ecting the "Modern-Qay Beef";
and through h~s ou-~standing init~ative f~as been responsible for the
suceess of the 4-H Farm.Program ~n Butta County, as we11 as man,y
ather nationally renown accomplishments throughout his career.
