HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-062WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Butte finds it to be in the interest o~ the County to amend the Personnel Rules. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of 5upervisors o~ the County of Butte hereby amends Section 7.3 of the Personnel Rules of the County of Butte to read as follows: 7.3 PROBATIONARY PEg?~OD OF PROMOTED EMPLOYEES An employee who is promoted shall serve a(6) six month probationxry period in the higher classification excep~ employees promoted to the class of Deputy Sheriff, who shall serve a(12) twelve month probationaxy pexiod. Employees appointed to positions of Jailer and Sailiff after October l, I977 shall serve a(1) one year probationary period. During the probationary period an employee who has permanent status in a lower class sha~l be regarded as having permanent status in the former class. If th~ employee is rejected duxing the probationary period in fihe higher class of position, the employee shall have the right, in lieu of texmina~ion, to volun~arily demote back to the formex class of- posi~ion in which permanent status was he1d. If, at the end of the probationary pexiod, the appointing authority believes the employee is performing in a satisfactory manner, the appoznting authority shall, in writing, infoxm the employee and the Personnel Director. The employee shall then have permanent status in the higher classzfication. Should the appointing authority fail to perfoxm the employee's probationary review at the end of the probationary period, the empToyee shall automatically be granted permanent status in the higher classification. NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of ~he County of Butte hereby amends Sec~ion 13.~0 f of the Personnel Ru1es of the County of Butte to read as follows: 13.10 TRAVEL AND EXPENSES f. Boards, Commissions and Committees These rules sha~l apply to members of the following boaxds, commissions and committees appointed by the Board o~ Supervisors pursuant to California Government Code Section 31000.1: RESOLUTION AMENDING THE BUTTE COUNTY PERSdNNEL RULES l. Planning Commission 2. Assessment Appeals Board 3. Charter Study Committee 4. Fish and Game Commission 5. Mental Health Advisory Board 6. County Employment and Training Advisory Council 7. Personnel Appeals Commission 8. Air Pollution Control District Hearing Board, NOW, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of th~ County of Butte hereby adds Section 13.11 of the Personnel Rules of the County of Butte to read as follows: I3.11 UNBMPLOYMENT INSURANCE County Employees shail be covered by unemployment insuxance pursuant to State law. The purpose of this coverage is to provide benefits to former employees who axe no longer employed through no fault of their own. Employees who terminate from county employment shall complete termination forms and procedures as required by the Pexsonnel Director. The Personnel Director sha11 administer the Unemployment Insurance Program. The Personnel Director shall pxovide and maintain any records requared for the Unemployment Insurance Program and represent or arrange for representation of the county in unemployment insuxance claims actions. The Personnel Director sha11 advise the Board regarding the maintenance and administxation af the Unemployment Insurance Program. The Auditor shall act as the fiscal agen~ for the Unemployment Insurance Program. The Auditor sha11 provide and maintaan all payroll and fiscal records and make reimbursement payments to the Stafie as reQuired by the Unemployment insurance Program. The Auditor shall provide to the Personnel Director fiscal and payroll information necessary for the administration of the program.
