WHEREAS, ~he Charter of the Covnty of Butte provides
that the Boaxd of Supervisors may designaCe ~he sheriff as the
ex-o~fiicio marshal. of the Chico Judicial District;
WHEREAS, it is the intent of ~he Board of Supervisors
to adopt an ordinance designating fhe sheriff as the ex-officio
raarshal of the Chico JudiciaZ District; and
WHEREAS, Government Code Sections 74938, 74939 and
74943 now provide for, and otherwise relate to ~he office of the
marshaZ of the Chico Judicial Dis~ric~.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT R~SOLVED THAT t~e legislature of
the State of California is hereby requested to amend Government
Code Sections 74938, 74939 and 74943 to read as follows:
74938. The Sheriff of the Co~.ty of Butte is the
ex-officio marsha7. of the Chico Judicial
District.
74939. All deputies and other officers serving
under the ~heriff of the Co~xnty of Sutte
are ex-officio deputy marshals for the
Chico Ju.dicial District.
74943. All fees collected by the ex-officio marshal
or ex-officio deputy marshals sha11 be
deposited with the county treasurer.
