[~HEREAS, the Bubte Coun~y Boa~d of Supervisors is concerned
with employment and utilization of a11 human resources within the
County without regard to handicapped persons;
WHEREAS, the Butte County Board of Supervisors recognizes
that handicapp~d persons face problems in obtaining employment not
faced by non-impaired persons;
WHEREAS, the Su~~~ County Board of Supervisors recogniz~s
empl.oyers may face certa~.n problems in hiring handicapped persons;
WHEREAS, there is a need fbr growing awareness regarding the
employment capabilities of handicapped persons;
WHEREAS, handicapped persons are recogniz~d as a reliable
and eapable labor source for pub~ic and private employers;
WHEREAS, the Butte County Corrimittee for the Employment of
the Handicapped is concerned with these issues and has been
~'ormed to promote increased employment on a year round basis of
handicapped workers as well as retention and advancement of those
already employed and. to promote better understanding of the
ou~stianding job performance of handicapped workers when properly ~
placed and to develop a better understanding by the hand~.capped o~
rehabilitation trainzng and placement sex~va.ces available to them
and encourage them to use these services;
WHEREAS, the Butte County Committee for the Employment of
the Hand.~.capped can provide information and assistance to public
~nd private employers;
NOW, '~HEREFOR~ BE IT RESOLVED, ~hat: the Butte County Board
o~ Supervisors recognizes the Bu.t~e County Committee for the ~
RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE THE BUTTE COUNTY
COM1~iTTEE FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF THE HANDICAPPED
Employment for the Handicapped as operating in Butte County to
promote placement, re~ention, anfl advancement of handicapped
workers on a year round basis and to promote a better understanding
o~ the ou~standing ~ob performance oF handicapped workers and ~o
develop a better understanding by the handicapped of rehabilitation
training and p~acement services available to them and encourage
them to use the services.
