RESQLUTIQN IN OPPOSITION TO PROPOSED' STATE WELFARE
REGULATIONS THAT WILL PROHTBTT BOEIP~D OF SUPERVISORS
ACCESS TO titiTELFARE RECORDS
WHEREAS, the Sutte Gounty Board of Supervisors a~points a
Welfare Director who acts for and in behalf of the Board of Supervisors;
and
WHEItEAS, the Butte County Board o~ Supervisors is responsible
for the administration of public assistance programs and for the expen-
diture of public £unds in the County.
NQri7, THEREF'ORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows:
l. That the Butte County Board of Supervisors strongly opposes
any proposed state regulations ~hat would exclude the Board of Supervisors
and its individual members from access to wel.fare records that must be
ava~.lable in order to propsrly adminis~er various wel.fare programs as
required by state 1aw.
2. That a copy of this resolution be sent to the Honorable
Jerry Srown, Governor; the Honorable Ray Johnson, Senator, the Nonorable
Stan Stathaiu, Assemblyman; the Honorable Eugene Chappie, Assemblyman,
all other Boards of Supervisors in the State of California; and to such
othez individuals as this Boaxd may direct.
