HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-092WHEREAS, the 8oard of Supervisors of the County of Butte, State of California, on December 20, 1977 received a report and discussed the feas~b9lity of estab7ishing a Human (Socia1) Services Advisory Commission; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Superv3sors of the County of Butte, State of Ca~i,fornia, do hereby estab3ish the "Human Services Advisory Commission": 1. Said Cornrrtfssion sha11 consist of five members. Each Board of Supervisor member shaTl nominate one member to the Commission; however, all members sha11 be appoTnted by the Board of Supervisors. 2. The members of the Human Services Advisory Commission shal~ be entitled to mileage and other necessary expenses pursuan~ to the county resolution governing ~ravel expenses. 3. Said Human 5ervices Advisary Commission shall meet at such places ar~d times as necessary, ~ot to exceed two meetings per month, for the purpose of developing end advising the Board of Supervisors in the following areas: a. Human'services coot^dination. Provide citizen and pub]ic agency participatton in human services delivery. b. 'Information and referral. Provide citizen and puh]~c agency participation in implementation of a comprehensive 24-hour information and referral service, c. Volunteer service bureau. Provide citizen participation in development of volunteers. d. Screen and prioritize human service fur-ding reques~ts, Provide citizen and public agency participation in research, and coordination of the funding process to save energy, dupli- cation of services, and derive the most benefit from each do1lar. RESOLUTION ESTABLISNING HUMA~ (SOGIAL) SERVICES ADVISORY COMMISSIO~ 4. It is the intention of the Board of Supervisors that the Muman Services Advisory Commission be formed initially on a pilot basis, and that the f9rst task af ~he Commission is to investigate the advisabi7ity of the Corrunission's existence and report their findings to the Board of Supervisors. If it is found that a Human Services Advisory Commission is a true and worthy need, the Cor~enission shall ~nclude and address in their report to the Board of Supervisors the structure of the organization as it relates to their ability to function, includ~ng staff and funding assistance.
