ZOITERING IN PUBLIC PLACES Z)URING CERTAIN HOURS AND
I;riAKIIdG IT UIdLAZlFUL TO ATD P,TINORS IPT VIOLATING THE
PROVI5IONS OF SAID SECTION.
The Board of Supervisors of County of Butte, State of
California, do ordain as follows:
SECTION 'I: LOITERING BY I4IINORS: It shall be unlawful
for any person under the age of eighteen (18} years to be or
loiter upon the streets of Butte County, in a place of amuse-
ment or entertainment or in any other public place, between
the hours of 10:00 o°clock P.P,T. of any day and sunrise of the
following day, unless such person is accompanied by a parent,
spouse, guardian, or other adult having control or chaxge of
said minor; provided, however, that such unaccompanied minor
may be in any of the following places:
(a) Places of supervised amusement or entertainment,
other than one at which intoxicating liquors are
sold, where a regular program of evening entertain-
ment has commenced or has been arranged to commence
at 10:00 o°clock P.i~~io or prior thereto and has been
held over or continued beyond 10:00 a°clock P.I~T.
(b) All properly scheduled and supervised school or
club functions that said minor is eligible to attend.
(c) Any public place where said minor is legally employed .
between the hours of 10:00 o°cloek PaIvI. of any day
and sunrise of the folloving days
(d) Upon the streets of the County while said manor is
returning directly to his home or other place of
residence after having attended a place of amusement
or entertainment or after Navin,; left a school
function or social call.
(e) Upon the streets of the County while said minor
is going to his place of employ~~~t, or while

returning directly to his home or other place
of residence after having left his place of
employm.en.t o
SECTION 2: SAP,~LE: 1'r~RiE'IITTING: AIDING OR AB'yTTIPTG: It
shall be unlawful for any parent, guardian or any adult person
having legal control or charge of any minor under the age of
eighteen (18) years to pexauit, allow or let such minor, or for
any ether person to assist, aid, abet or encourage any minor under
the age of eighteen (18) years to be or loiter on a public street
or in or about any other public place in the County between the
hours of 10:00 0-' clock B.r~2. of any day and sunrise of the following
day, unless such minor is accompanied by a parent, g~zardian or
other adult person having legal control or charge of such minor.
SECTION 3: Any person or persons violating any provisions
of Section 1 or Section 2 of this ordinance shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor.
SECTION 4: The ordinance shall be, and it is hereby
declared to be in full force and effect from and after this time
of its passage pursuant to the urgency hereinafter found. and
declared, That this ordinance is for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, health and safety of the residents and
inhabitants of Butte County.
That the facts constituting the urgency are as follows:
~To legislatian covering the subject of the ordinance is in effect
and it is necessary for the preservation of the peace of the
County that suds legislation be in force and effect,
Before the expiratien of 15 days after its passage,
this ordinance shall be published at least once in a newspaper
of general circulation published in the County of Butte, with
the names of the supervisors voting for and against the same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Board of Supervisors of
the .County of .Butte, State of California, this 17th day o£
September, 1963, by the following vote:
AYES: Supervisors Alldredge, Giles, McKillop, Pryde and
Chairman Steinegger
NOES: None
ABSENT: None
