W~1~REAS, the County of Butte has traffic signals instal~.ed at various
].vcations a.n the County, ar~d
WFIE~EAS, the Caunty does not have adeqtiate personnel or equipment fox
the maintenance of such traffic signals;
NOW, ~EREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED tha~ rh.e State of California, Department
of Transportation be requestecZ to roaa.n,tain sa~d. signal system at arz estimated
cost of $3,000 far tne 1978-79 fisca~. year.
BE ~T ~'U~t'~'H~R RESOLVED that the ~ollowing "Save Harmless1° pravisa~on
is agproved ~y the Board in connection ~rith such ma~.nte~ance:
"Z~ is exp~essly understofld and agreed by the County thar ~he S~ata of
California and its offi.cers and. its emplopees sha~.J. not be answerable
ox accauntable i.n any manner for injux~es to or the death. of persons
or for any damage to propert}r resul~.izzg from the operation o~ o~ ~I~e
failure to maintain ~he traffic signals."
