WHEREAS, Article V, Chapter 20 0£ the Butte County Ordinance Code relating
to subdinisiona in the County o£ Butte requirea the establishment of a street
lighting system in new subdivisions to be approved in the Coun:ty of Butte purauant
to the proviaions of said Article V, Chapter 20; and
WH~REAS, California Streets and Highways Code Section 5821.3 providea that a
street lightiag maintenance di.atrict may be formed or the propexty annexed to an
exiating maintenance diatrict, without notice or hearing, when a atreet lighting
system is required to be installed hy a subdivider; and
WHEREAS, on or about Au,guet 29, 1977 ,~ tentative map of the
~eadow Eetates Subdivision i+as approved by the Subdfvisinn Review
Committee af the County of BuCte reqniring among other things the inaCaZZgtfon
of a atreet lightiag system as provided for fn Article V Chaptex 20 of Che Butte
County Ordinaace Code; and
WHEREAS, a petitfon by Che Subdivider, Richard I,. Ramsey
has beea filed with Chis Board, requeating the formatioa of a street lighting
maintenance dirtrict undar.tha pr•ovi~s'.oas of the Improv~menL Ae~ o£ ]911 (Chapter 26,
Part 3, Division 7, Section 5820 et seq.); and
WHEREAS, pubiic interesk and convenience require the formation of a street
Lighting mainCenance district hereinafter referred to 8s Meadow Estates Streei;
Zighting Maintenance Distric~ for tlte purpose of de£r8ying the expenses,
maintenance and operation o£ an electrical street lighting sysCem. Said system
wt11 consist of poles, kughts, posts, wirea, lamps, and other aecessary equipment
installed in the herefnafter described uni.ncorporated territory of the CounCy of
BuCte, State of California. Said syetem ia to be located on and will light portions o

of public ways in said atreet 1lghting maintenance district. The lighCing aystem
that will be operated and maintained consists of ovexhead service street lights
whfch are auspended over the streets from brackets oz arms fastened Co poles; and
WHEREAS, the operation of the lighting system shall consist o~ aupplying the
lamps with electric energy £or all night burning and switching them on and off
once each nfght in accordance with standard svitching acheduiea approved by the
Public Utilities Commisafon of the State of Caii£ornia. Maintenance s~all consist
of replaciag the lamps when they burn out and af keeping the system in good aperating
order; and
WHEREAS, this Board of Supervisors does hereby determine and declare that
the exQenses of maintaining and operating said atreet Fighting system herein
deacribed will be aeseased upon the lands lying ~ithin the safd street lighting .
maintenance district, tha~ the monthly raCes charged for said street lights shsll
be in accordance with filed echedulea approved by the Public Utilities Codnniss3on
nf the State of California; and
WHEREAS, all of said landa lying within said street lighting maintenance
district will be benefited by the mainCenance and operation of said street
lighting system. Tkie territory within said street lighting maintenance district
is aituated in the County of Butte, StaCe of California, and is more particularly
descr4bed hereinbelow.
HOW, 'TfIERE~ORE, BE IT RE~OLVED BY THE BOARD 0~ SUPERVISORS OF ~E COUNTY aF
BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, that a street lighting mainCenance district undex the
proviaions of Che Improvement Act of 1911, Chapter 26, ParC 3, Division 7 0£ the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of Cali£ornia is hereby formed and created.
BE IT FURTfiEB RESOLVEA that the name of said sYreet lighting maintenance .

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the territory within said above named akreet
lighting maintenance district is situated in the County of Butte, Stake of
California, and more particularly described IR ExhibiC "A" attached hereto and

ATTENTION is hereby called to the map of the territory to be included within
said street iighting maintenance district showing the public says to be lighted,

Rolle segregate the property included within the district on the Assessment Roil
under the designation contained in this Resolution as required by Section 5829 of
the StreeCs and Highwaya Code.
