suppor~s modification of the Amtrak Passenger Service route, in the
Redding/Sacramento corridor of the Coasr S~arlight, to run along the
eas~ side ot the Northern Sacramento Valley through Butte County and
the City of Chico; and
WH~REt1S, said Amtrak Passenger Service would be beneficial
to the ci~izens in the City of Chico, the population being in excess
of 50,000 people; and
WHEREAS, said Amtrak Passenger Service would be beneficial
to the citizens of the County o£ Butte, its population in excess-of
100,000 people.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Butte County Board
of Supervisozs:
1. That the Board of Supervisors urges and supports
modificatioz~. o~ the Amtrak Passenger Service, in the Redding/Sacramer-to
corridor of the Coast Starlight area, to run along the east side of
~1-~e Northern Sacramento Va11ey.
2. ~k~.at the Board of Supervi.sors supports the modification
of said AmCx-ak Passen~er Service to be rerouted through Sutte County
and t~Ce Ci~q of Chicp.

AMTRAK PASSENGER SERVICE
