RESOLUTIflN AUTHORIZING BUTTE COUNTY LIBRARY
TO PARTICTPATE IN CALIFORNIA LIBRRRY SERULCES ACT
WHEREAS, County of Butte maintains the Butte County Library for
the purposes of ineeting informat~onal, educatianal and recreatfonal needs
of its res~dents; and
WHEREAS, the County of Sutte is desirous of improving those
services while deriving the greatest possible benefits of the use of public
funds by:
a. Providing ~o its residents access to the materials and
services of other libra'ries in the state through
resource shar9ng;
b. Obta9ning the maximum state and federal fund~ng in support
of such sharing; and
c. Augmenting services to those segments of the comrtEUnity not
presentiy served; and
i~HEREAS, the California Library Services Board has fands available
under the Californ9a Library Services Act (Education Code Title 1, ~ivision ],
Part 11, Chapter 4) to assist and support the shar7ng of library materia]s
and services by Cailfornia's libraries;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVE~ that the Butte County Library is authorized
to participate in the programs of the California Library Serv~ces Act; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED t~at the Director o~ Libraries of the Butte
County Library be directed and authorized to annually app~y for and accept
funds under this Ca1ifornia Library Services Act.
