by the voters as Proposition 13 at the June 6, 1978 primary election,
p~ovides that praperty taxes levied on county assessed real property
shall not exceed one percent (1.0/) of its tulJ. cash value except ~or
amounts required to meet payments on voter approved debt and assessments
levied on other than an ad valorem base; and
WHEREAS, the S~ate Legislature has enacted Cha~ters 292 and
332 ~SB 154 and SB 2212) - Statutes 1978 in an attempt to itnplement
the provisions of said.Article XIII A; and
WHEREA$, Section 2235 ofi the Revenue and Taxation Code, as
added by said Chapters 292 and 332, provides that, ~or the 1978-79
£iscal year only, no t~ing entity other than the County shall levy
an ad valorem property tax except for the amounts needed to make annual
payments on general obligation bonds or oth.er indebtedness approved by
the voters prior to July 1, 1978; and
WHEREAS, said Section 2235 further provides tlnat the County
sha~l levy an ad valorem property tax on aIl taxable assessed value at
a rate equal to four dollars E$4.00) per one hundred dollars ($100.00)
of assessed value, and that the revenue from such tax levy shall be
distributed to al~. o£ the taxinq en~ities within the County in accordance
with other provisions of said Chapters 292 and 332 - Statutes 1978; and
N7HEREAS, amounts needed for annual voter approved debt payments,
and the respective tax rates required to raise such amounts, have been
cletermined by the County Auditor; and
WE-IEItEAS, it is incumbent on the Board o~ Supervisors to fix
the tax rates for certain entities within tl~e County, pursuant to
Article 5, Division 3, Title 3(Section 29100 et seq.) ofi the Government
Code, for the 1978-79 fiscal year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE TT RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors
of the County of }3utte, State of California, as £ollows:
1. That said Board does hereby fiix a tax rate of four
dol.lars ($4.00} per one hundred dollars ~$100.001 of
assessed value to be applied to the total taxable property
inc3.uded on the 1978-79 Secured Property Tax Roll as
compiled by the County Assessor and the S'tate Board of
Equalization;
2. That the revenues derived £rom said tax rate and
levy shall be distributed to the various taxing entities
in the County, as prescribed by Chapters 292 and 332 -
Statutes 1978, by ~he County Auditar; and

respective entities on the 1978-79 Secured Property
Tax RoII, as compiled by the County Assessor and the

to meet annual payments on voter approved bonds and
other indebtedness. Revenues derived from such tax
zates and levies shall be distributed to the various
entities pursuant -tb prevailing Iaw.
